"We Don't Recruit Athletes...We Are Building Them! "

Engaging children in sports and healthy activities is one of the most important factors in creating tomorrow's responsible adults. Cali. United Soccer Organization “CUSO” in partnership with the City of Carson – Calas Park offers a program that addresses this issue. But that is not all that we do. We offer options to youth and children at risk who due to financial status are not able to afford to be part of nationally known soccer organizations or costly soccer clubs. We offer training, development, empowerment and most importantly guidance thrue the sport of soccer into changing negative habits and choices to positive habits to create responsible individuals with a brighter future. The participants are then challenged to perform with trustworthiness, respect, honor, discipline, fairness, and good citizenship in City of Carson tournaments/leagues and other local soccer leagues, soccer programs, and competitions such as CUYSL, YMCA, CalSouth, KIS,  LAYSL, invitational tournaments, and more.

CUSO offers this program all year round for the benefit of the children and ultimately our community. The coaches and administrators are all volunteers. The participants are boys and girls between the ages of 5 and 18 years old.  Currently we have approx. 150 participants, ten coaches, many Asst. Coaches and two administrators.  All of our practices take place at:

Calas Park.   1000 E. 220th St. Carson, Cali. 90745

Competing with CLASS!

  • Class always respects teammates, coaches, officials, and spectators.  It always sacrifices self for the greater good of the game.
  • Class oozes with confidence, never cockiness.
  • Class has an element of pride without being proud.
  • Class has nothing to do with status, position, or wealth. It bespeaks an aristocracy that has nothing to do with ancestry or accomplishments. Some wealthy "blue bloods" have no class, while individuals who are struggling to make ends meet are loaded with it.
  • Class does not need credit for getting the job done.
  • Class is never self-seeking and always looks for ways to praise others.
  • Class is void of excuses. It learns from failure and moves on.
  • Class is doing unto others as you would have others do unto you.
  • Class cultivates good manners, recognizing them as a series of small, inconsequential sacrifices.
  • True class has no rivals.  If you lack class whatever else you have is inconsequential.
